Becoming a Taskforce volunteer can help you keep fit and healthy, whilst contributing to the improvement of your local environment. Volunteers also discover more about nature and wildlife in their area, receive training in practical conservation techniques, learn different skills and meet new people.
The Taskforce have already enjoyed several task days across South Essex including ‘scrub bashing’ to improve access to footpaths and bridle paths, hedge planting and clearing areas of litter which was causing a threat to wildlife.
Jackie Humberstone, Local Greengrid Taskforce Officer said ”Our aim is to work with local people to improve the green spaces where they live or work” adding “We are always looking for new volunteers to come along and join in the fun at our Task Day events!”
Groundwork South Essex is a charitable Trust within the East of England Region which aims to deliver environmental projects through local partnerships.
