Fanners Farm - Great Waltham
Grasp the opportunity to visit this unique garden, the fruit of 50 years love and dedication.
Fanners Farm has been the home of Peter and Caroline Lee for nearly 50 years. Having moved in to the then semi-derelict property the day they were married, the garden and farm buildings have evolved to accommodate their needs.
There are several areas to explore in the pretty two-and-a-half-acre country garden. You'll find a water garden created from the remains of the original moat; an old horse pond; a millenium folly built by Raffles; a conservatory full of plants, and Caroline's pride and joy, the vegetable patch. The main part of the garden is dominated by a 250-year-old walnut tree, under which is a 70-foot deep brick-lined working well.
Housed in the old barns is Peter's magnificent collection of vintage cars and motor cycles .
Location: Fanners Farm, Fanners Green, Great Waltham CM3 1EA. From Great Waltham: south into South Street. 1.25 miles to Fanners Green. Turn right into 'no through road' (opposite post box). Or go along Chignal Road, and turn right 100 yards past Pig and Whistle into Breeds Road, and left into 'no through road').
