Get fit with our bracing Monday lunchtime walks around Wat Tyler Park. A brisk 30-minute walk on a regular basis to improve your fitness in peaceful surroundings

Nifty Fifty Health Walks
A friendly group with about 35 participants. Wednesday morning leisure/health walks, up to 2-3 hours from 10am, walks are in and out of the district. All the walks are under 5 miles long. We usually go at a pace of 2.5mph. Cardiac rehabilitation patients are welcome with a referral. No dogs allowed.

The walks last approxomately half an hour and are led by an experienced leader. The walks will give you a chance to relax, unwind and meet new people while getting healthier.

Health Walks
Choose from one of three types of Health walk to suit your time schedule and capability. Each walk has at least two trained leaders, which means you can walk at a pace that suits you. Walking is a free and easy way to better health, it's a safe and simple way to meet new people and make friends.
Mini Trax - 30 minutes brisk pace
Lunchtime Walk - Every Thursday, meet outside front of Town Hall, Ingrave Road, under the clock at 12:30pm. Walk will last approximately 30-45 mins. Please wear comfortable shoes i.e. trainers.
Intermediate Trax - 1 hour slightly slower pace with the option to step out.
Tuesday in Brentwood - walks will begin every Tuesday from King George's Playing Fields, commencing at 11am from the car park off Ingrave Road. Then follows paths in Hartswood and nearby woodlands.
Wednesday in Doddinghurst - a walk will be held every Wednesday from Doddinghurst Village Hall at 10 am. The walk follows paths in the countryside.
Thursday in Blackmore - a walk will be held every Thursday from Blackmore village hall at 10:30am. The walk will follow footpaths and bridleways around the village.
Stepping Out Trax - 1- 2 hours various paces
These Thursday walks let you step out at your own speed. The walk lasts for about 1-2 hours, and will be at a brisker pace.
Thursday in Thorndon Country Park - continue past the Countryside Centre and meet at 11 am on Childerditch Common.
Thursday in Mill Green - Please note that these routes may take you over stiles. Meet in the car park opposite the Cricketers Pub on Mill Green Road a 11am.
Thursday in Weald Country Park - These walks will be led every third Thursday from the White Horse Pub at 11 am.

Tiptree Heath (south end of Tiptree on the B1022)
Starting at the main car park, Suitable for all ages including those who are interested in wildlife. Walks are up to 1.5 miles round Tiptree Heath which is a mixture of open heathland (SSSI status) and shaded woodland. The largest remaining heathland in Essex boasting magnificent heathers, ponds and a variety of beautiful and rare wildlife.Suitable footwear and clothing are needed.

EPPING FOREST - and surrounding area |

Epping Forest District Council
Lifewalks
5 led walks every week with a choice of over 25 routes. Around 35-40 people come out on each walk. There are at least 4 fully trained leaders on every Lifewalk.
Lifewalks range from 1-3 miles and each route is carefully graded for the amount of effort needed. Lifewalks take place on good surface paths in the local countryside and in the country parks around Waltham Abbey, Epping, Theydon Bois, Loughton, Chigwell, Buckhurst Hill and North Weald. New walkers are always well looked after by the leaders who will advise on walking speed and help you quickly feel part of the group. We especially cater for walkers with high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes, asthma, heart disease, those who have completed a coronary rehab programme, are overweight or just generally feeling stressed or depressed
Cost: Lifewalks cost £1.50 per walk or £20 for 6 months. The scheme operates all year round with slightly different Winter and Summer programmes. Special social and themed walk events are offered every 3 months and all walkers receive the regular newsletter Walktalk.

Fitsteps offers a choice of walks, three times a week across the Maldon District and the South Chelmsford locality. The walks are led by specially trained walk leaders. All the walks are local and mainly on footpaths. The paths are easy to walk on and are either flat or have a very slight gradient. Distances range between one to two miles.

Currently covering, Clacton, Jaywick, Holland On Sea, St. Osyth, Brightlingsea, Manningtree & Great Bentley. All routes are well researched and assessed for safety, ease of use and interest. Everybody and anybody is welcome, children (accompanied by a parent or carer), dogs, wheelchairs & buggies (on selected routes only). Strong links established with the local Cardiac Rehab Clinic, Diabetes Awareness Clinics, Smoking Cessation service, Exercise Referral Scheme, Gp's, Practise Nurses, Community Services and the District Council. The walks range from 1 mile to three miles and vary in their demands on the walker.We have led walks along coastal stretches, through rural settings, riverside and bridleways, something for everybody.
