Tile Wood locationEssex Wildlife Trust is determined to raise funds to buy Tile Wood – a superb ancient woodland in South Essex. They need to raise £50,000.

Tile Wood is over 1,000 years old – one of the earliest ancient woodlands to be recorded in Essex. It nestles between Pound Wood and Little Haven, both Essex Wildlife Trust nature reserves in Castle Point. Tile Wood is one of five ancient woodlands lying within the Hadleigh & Daws Heath Living Landscape area which forms part of the major greenbelt woodland between Southend and Rayleigh.

Tile Wood in SpringThey have to raise the money by the end of January 2010 to complete this purchase. Ancient woodland is an irreplaceable habitat and once lost it is lost forever.  Please support the purchase of Tile Wood.
